Here are 7 common types of visas you can apply for depending on your purpose of visit:
1️⃣ 14-Day Free Visa (Visa Exemption)
📍 If you have a valid passport, you can stay in Thailand for 14 days without a visa.
📍 If you want to stay longer, you can extend it:
- One time for 7 days at the immigration office
- Or use e-extension online for up to 5 times (each time for 30 days)
2️⃣ Tourist Visa
📍 For travelers and tourists.
- Single-entry visa allows you to stay up to 3 months
- Multiple-entry visa allows stays of 6 months to 1 year
3️⃣ Student Visa (ED Visa)
📍 For those studying in Thailand.
- Initial visa is for 3 months
- Can be extended depending on your school:
- Language Schools: Extensions of 6 months, 8 months, or 1 year
- Universities: Extensions of 1 to 4 years
4️⃣ Guardianship Visa
📍 For parents or guardians who accompany their children studying in Thailand.
- The visa period usually matches the student’s visa
- Extension depends on the type of school
5️⃣ Medical Visa
📍 For people coming to Thailand for medical treatment.
- This cannot be converted into a long-term visa
- Validity depends on the treatment period and hospital recommendation
6️⃣ Work Visa
📍 For those who plan to work in Thailand long-term.
- Usually issued for 1 year
- Requires job offer documents and employer support for approval
7️⃣ Business Visa
📍 For attending conferences, meetings, or short business trips.
- Valid for 3 months to 1 year, depending on the purpose and supporting documents
